Mysterious Newspapered House

On Monday January 26th demolition workers in Bristol discovered a Victorian terraced house entirely decorated inside and out with newsprint.

Floors, walls, ceilings, lightbulbs, doorhandles, taps, washbasins, stairs and bannisters ......everything was completely covered.

The local newspaper set up a telephone hotline in a bid to establish the identity of the person responsible, with no success. Local art colleges received calls from the Guardian following their publication of images of the house's interior on 28th January.

Var can now exclusively reveal that the newspapered house is an art action! It was carried out by a member of the Guerilla Girls UK, who have been active in this country for the last two years.

The artist, who uses the name - Isadora Duncan - for her Guerilla Girl activities contacted Var on 28th January and has promised to send us more information. So, watch this space.
