Something opens as today closes. Quite what is unworthy of prediction no doubt. Time does not tell us but occasionally we smell new times. For me though this will have nothing to do with Blair and his bullshit but the openings outside offered. Since I was eleven the tories have been in power. Even when I was old enough to vote labour was a waste. And now it seems people are so keen for change they paradoxically vote for someone who offers less change than ever. A new face, a new name, all illusions of movement. Perhaps the illusion can bring with it a need for a parallel reality, some sort of real movement felt in the bones and smelt in the air - and as Blair's bullshit fills the air that need may spur movements for movement.
The future though should be left to the future. For now it seems enough to note this time, to know this time now is a time past, a last day and a first day, a hinge.
